New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints ，a vocational American football team , are located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The team played in the SD(Southern Division) of the NFC (National Football Conference) in the NFL.

In 1967,being an expansion team,the Saints were founded. Its first triumphant years were from 1987 to 1992, the time when the team made the finals four times and gained winning records in the non-playoff seasons. In 2000,the Saints cleaned up on the SB(Super Bowl) champion St. Louis Rams for their first final win.

LS(Louisiana Superdome) is the Saints' home stadium. The team competed in its home games in the "dome" thirty-four years ago. Owing to damage caused by HK (Hurricane Katrina),the Saints' 2005 home pioneer was played at GS( Giants Stadium) against the NYG(New York Giants). However ,the rest of their 2005 home games were seperated between the Alamodome ( San Antonio, Texas) and LSU's Tiger Stadium (Baton Rouge, Louisiana).

In the 2006 season after a $185 million renovation of the historic stadium, the team went back to the Superdome. On Sep 25, 2006 ,it played its 2006 home opener in front of a sold-out crowd and national television audience, beating its NFC South rival, the Atlanta Falcons by a score of twenty three to three.The victor received a 2007 ESPY award for “BMS”("Best Moment in Sports").

New Orleans is one of five NFL teams playing in a SB(Super Bowl). In 2006 the club got to the NFC Championship Game, in which they have been beat by CB(Chicago Bears).
